It’s absolutely amazing that “That ’70s Show” never degenerated into a gimmicky cornucopia of awful pop culture jokes. But while the period references are stronger in its first season than they are in current episodes, the show has been about Eric Forman’s (Topher Grace) friends, family and basement from day one. The laughs come from the characters rather than pet rock jokes, and thus, we have a genuinely funny show, bad hair or not. And the most grievous plunge into pop culture schlock, a Star Wars spoof on disc four, is a riot. Includes 25 episodes, plus a backstage featurette, promotional spots and a short trivia segment.
