The iconic independent record store is set to move from its current location to 6200 Hollywood Blvd. in fall of 2020. Amoeba Music’s new home will be a huge, ground-level space on the corner of Hollywood and Argyle located in El Centro, a residential and retail complex that opened in 2018. It’s both an easily accessible and highly visible destination, in a diverse and vibrant neighborhood that boasts historic venues such as The Fonda Theatre, Pantages Theatre as well as excellent eateries, cafes, retail shops and nightlife spots.

"We have been blown away by the massive outpouring of support from our customers and the LA community throughout our search for a new home and are excited for the next chapter in the Amoeba story," said Jim Henderson, co-owner of Amoeba Music. "It has been a long search, but we’re pleased to announce we found the right new home and are able to stay in the music and movie-loving heart of Hollywood."

Located just four blocks from its current location, Amoeba Music will remain in the center of Hollywood and easy to find for both locals and visitors. The new space features free/validated parking in the on-site lot and easy accessibility via public transportation: located across the street from the Hollywood & Vine Metro rail stop and one block east of the #217 bus stop.

The new Hollywood Blvd location will be the same Amoeba Music that shoppers and visitors love – with plenty of room to house all the music, movies and memorabilia (books, posters, t-shirts, toys, games, etc.) the iconic retailer currently stocks. Amoeba will continue to be a “Buy, Sell, Trade” destination carrying new, used and collectible items. Live music performances, artist signings and special events will have a new home as well to support and highlight artists locally and from around the world. With the largest selection of music and movies offered anywhere under one roof – plus plenty of space for exciting events and spectacle – Amoeba Music will continue to thrive as a Hollywood destination for locals and tourists alike.
