Diddy (he lost the "P," folks!) describes "The Bad Boys of Comedy" as the evolution of a revolution started by the likes of Redd Foxx, Richard Pryor and Flip Wilson. And while ‘BBOC’ serves up a funny performance here and there, you have to wonder whom he thinks he’s kidding.

There’s a lot of nasty going on, and bad words let fly like dust in a basement, but dropping F-bombs all over the arena doesn’t automatically make your comedy edgy, much less original or funny.

"BBOC" is good for some throwaway laughs, but if you want a genuine (and oftentimes very funny) display of guts on a contemporary stage, check out HBO’s "Def Poetry Jam" DVDs instead.

Includes nine episodes, plus two behind-the-scenes features.
