2 Days in Paris, one of the bright spots of 2008, a dark year in filmmaking, tumbles onto the screen like a latter day Woody Allen flick. Both funny and poignant, the story centers on two lovers (Julie Delpy and Adam Goldman) bickering their way through the City of Light while trying to sort out their relationship.

Thank god for Delpy, between co-writing Before Sunset, and scripting 2 Days in Paris, she may be the voice in the wilderness we’ve all been waiting for (OK, maybe that’s a little overdramatic).

Still, a film about relationships that runs the gamut of emotions from hilarity to bitterness and manages to strike just the right chord in the battle between the sexes comes along all too rarely.
