Renowned author Alex Haley told the story of seven generations of his mother’s family in Roots, released in 1977. Queen completes the saga with the story of his father’s family.

Based on Hayley’s epic novel, Queen first aired on CBS television in 1993 and chronicles the life of his paternal grandmother Easter (Jasmine Guy), an illegitimate child of a slave woman, and James (Tim Daly), the plantation owner.

Displaying superb acting skills, Oscar winner Halle Berry stars as the title character, a racially mixed slave who searches for a home in the two cultures of her heritage. Danny Glover, Martin Sheen and Ossie Davis are among the many stars of this poignant, historical drama.
