If the reality TV culture has taught us anything, it’s that anything can be interesting if it is on video. Granted, much of the time it’s because we love to feel superior to people who are willing to humiliate themselves for a chance at stardom.

That said, Twisted: A Balloonamentary is a notably irony-free look at a group of balloon twisters as they converge on the Twist and Shout balloon twisting convention. The stories of the twisters range from students who are twisting to pay for college to professionals who make six-figure incomes making balloon creations, yet they are all disarmingly sincere and charming.

Even an animated history of balloons and twisting narrated by Jon Stewart is notably devoid of irony.
