I’m not really one for current event films – Iraq, 9/11, Columbine – so it’s not much of a surprise that The Life Before Her Eyes only struck me as so-so.

Flashing forward and back through time, the precipitating incident, a high school student on a shooting spree, haunts Diana’s life. Evan Rachel Wood plays Diana in high school, a witness to the murders and nearly a victim herself, while Uma Thurman fills the role of the adult Diana, still struggling to make sense of it all.
