The compilation includes 1994’s Wild Reeds, perhaps Téchiné’s best film. Wild Reeds explores the relationship and sexual confusion of two young men grappling with adulthood and responsibility.
Téchiné, like many French filmmakers, manages to delve into the more salacious aspects of human nature with complete sensitivity, refreshingly sidestepping the morass of exploitation.
The other titles included in this edition are the touching My Favorite Season (pairing the great Catherine Deneuve and Daniel Auteuil), I Don’t Kiss and Hotel America (again with Deneuve).
