Among the must-see vintage musicals for girls everywhere, Gigi delights for adults as well, with a thoroughly winning performance from Leslie Caron. Like Mary Poppins and My Fair Lady, Gigi seems ageless and effortless – complete with a Cinderella transformation, nimble songs and loads of glamour.

It doesn’t hurt that the story takes place in France, and the supporting players are Maurice Chevalier and Louis Jourdan. Gigi's only drawback is the somewhat awkward May-December romance, a plot line that, while timeless, somehow still manages to seem a bit dated.
