One of Orson Welles’ long-unfinished pet projects, Don Quixote was begun in 1955 and finished by Jesus Franco in 1992. This version, however, does not include all of the Quixote footage that Welles shot, and Spanish critic Juan Cobos says it bares little resemblance to Welles’ vision. Although it’s worth a look if only out of curiosity, more compelling would’ve been a documentary about the filming along with the rough footage.
