Watching CBS’s “The Big Bang Theory” is a little like time travel. It’s a totally straightforward, mostly one location sitcom, laugh track and all. It’s about an attractive blonde who moves in next door to two arch-nerd physicists. The joke is how they try to equate human emotions and courting interactions in terms of physics equations. That joke is pretty much repeated endlessly.

While the rapid firing of one-liners is bound to hit occasionally, they’re at the expense of the performances and any real characters or original storytelling. It’s just baffling that after TV comedies like “Arrested Development” and “It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia” that this kind of outmoded sitcom even exists anymore.
