If the Hardy Boys listened to AC/DC, looked like Gap models, drove a vintage muscle car and had been watching too much “The X-Files,” the result might look a little like “Supernatural.” The CW show is definitely aimed at teen viewers but quite often has moments of genuine suspense and creepiness.

When they were kids, Sam and Dean’s mom was killed by a demon. Their dad became obsessed with the occult and tracking down his wife’s killer. Now their father has disappeared, and the boys have taken to the road on their own to continue his work and find their missing dad.

Presently still going strong into its fourth season, the show cleverly preys on the viewer’s childhood fear of all of those ghost legends known to everyone: Bloody Mary, the haunted stretch of road, etc. At times silly, it’s undoubtedly a guilty pleasure.
