Young men and women all decked out in their unique styles filled the Ace Gallery on Wilshire on Saturday night for Fashion Week L.A.’s Concept Los Angeles. The gallery morphed into an installation space with models dressed in the latest collections from Thai Nguyen, Curly V, Elaine Allen, Belle N. Matisse and Zu Baren. Saturday's festivities included four elaborate runway shows by Gypsy Junkies, Laili Lau, NAMI and Jen Awad.

During the NAMI show, Skrillex's “Cinema” and M83's “Psychic City” blared in the speakers as the supermodels strutted their stuff in sensual lace gowns in delicate shades of soft cream, beige and black. The beauty of the female was emphasized through the styling, with their hair pulled all the way back and up, almost as an exaggerated fohawk with delicate curls to bring out the rough features on their face. The daring collection also showcased a woman's most feminine features, showing some skin on the back, breast and all.

The Jen Awad show featured models with a rebellious appeal, with tattooed arms and legs showing off a spunkier style. Pallettes of hot pink, black, white and silver were mixed with furs, leather, floral prints and zippers, bringing the fashion to a different level and exploring an array of sartorial possibilities.

The Concept L.A. event marks the kick off of  Fashion Week Los Angeles, with shows scheduled to continue to display the latest local trends throughout the coming week.
