Down 2-0 against the Whitecaps FC in Vancouver, the Los Angeles Galaxy found a way to rally back and earn an important 2-2 tie on the road Wednesday night. Midfielder David Beckham scored the first goal in the 81st minute, cutting the lead to one. Making his MLS debut, Jose Villarreal knotted the match with an impressive left-footed shot.

Villarreal, 18 and a native of L.A., was excited. “I was happy I finally got to get on the field. I got the chance and I'm happy I got the goal for the team to tie it up and I'm happy with the result,” he told reporters after the contest.

The Galaxy picked up a point while shifting their record to 8-10-3. They face their L.A. rivals ,Chivas USA, at The Home Depot Center on Saturday at 7 p.m..
