Over the weekend, the University of Guadalajara Foundation and the Guadalajara International Film Festival (FICG) debuted their Muestra de Cine GuadaLAjara in Los Angeles.

The film festival, which presented a wide variety of FICG’s award winning films to proudly showcase at the AMC Theaters at Universal CityWalk, lasted three days. Several celebrities attended in efforts to support and promote the function, but they were also very involved with the films – in one way or another.

Celebrities in attendance included actress Kate del Castillo (Under the Same Moon, 2007), actor and model Eduardo Verástegui (Chasing Papi, Bella), singer and actress Ana Bárbara, actor Miguel Rodarte, actress Carmen Salinas, singer and actress Dulce María, singer and actor Beto Cuevas, actor Rafael Amaya, actress Olga Segura and Los Angeles Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa.

Some of the movies made available for viewing were Colosio (del Castillo), ¿Alguien Ha Visto A Lupita? (Have You Seen Lupita? (Salinas, María)), Border Run, Mariachi Gringo, Burros (Donkeys), The Harvest and Tales of Masked Men, among several others.

For the general public, watching the showcased movies came at no cost. As long as an RSVP was made, each flick was free.
