What are you doing New Year’s Eve? It isn’t just a vintage song title, it’s an annual quandary.

When going out isn’t the answer, staying in with TV offers multiple-choice options. Celebrate in virtual fashion or avoid holiday hoopla entirely.

AULD LANG SYNE

“New Year’s Rockin’ Eve” (ABC, 10-11 p.m., 11:30 p.m.-1:15 a.m.). Legendary host Dick Clark died this year, but successor Ryan Seacrest salutes Clark’s NYE career in an 8-10 p.m. prime time special. Then, Seacrest hits Times Square live with Jenny McCarthy and performers Taylor Swift, Carly Rae Jepsen and Neon Trees. Among the musical acts (recorded earlier) in Hollywood with studio host Fergie: Brandy, Flo Rida, Karmin, OneRepublic and Pitbull.

“New Year’s Eve Live” (NBC, 10-11 p.m., 11:30 p.m.-12:30 a.m.). Carson Daly returns to Times Square, with “Office” fave Angela Kinsey, plus performances from Train and “The Voice” winner Cassadee Pope. Also, a 2012 musical retrospective features Coldplay at the Paralympics, Madonna at the Super Bowl, Adele from Albert Hall, more.

“New Year’s Eve Live” (Fox, 11 p.m.-12:30 a.m.). Las Vegas is the setting for music from Lifehouse, Carmen Electra and others. And there’s that Times Square ball drop.

“Feliz 2013” (Univision, 10 p.m.-3:15 a.m.). The holiday’s heartiest party is always this Spanish-language network’s moving target, tracking revelry from Times Square to Disneyland and Acapulco.

“New Year’s Eve Live” (CNN, 10 p.m.). Anderson Cooper is back for a sixth year of giggling at Times Square co-host Kathy Griffin’s naughtiness.

“All American New Year” (Fox News, 11 p.m.-12:30 a.m.). Bill Hemmer and Megyn Kelly host Pat Benatar, Sarah Brightman, “Million Dollar Quartet” cast.

“Club NYE” (11 p.m., MTV). At the channel’s Times Square studios: Ke$ha, Ne-Yo, Sean Kingston, Rita Ora, Conor Maynard, The Knocks, comic Jeff Dye, “Jersey Shore’s” Snooki and JWoww.

“106 & Party” (BET, 11 p.m.-1 a.m.). Trinidad James and Ca$h Out headline the annual New Year’s bash.

“Eric Andre New Year’s Eve Spooktacular” (11:30 p.m., Cartoon). Adult Swim goes live with guests Demi Lovato, Sebastian Bach, Omarosa, Kevin Sorbo, John Kricfalusi and others. With the traditional countdown are competitive eating, marching bands and more.

“New Year’s Eve Dance Party” (fuse, 9 p.m.-2 a.m.). Music music music.

EVENTS

“Live From Lincoln Center” (PBS, 8 p.m.). “One Singular Sensation: Celebrating Marvin Hamlisch,” with New York Philharmonic, Audra McDonald, Beth Behrs, Josh Groban, Michael Feinstein, others.

“Best of 2012” (TeenNick, 8 p.m., repeats 11 p.m.). Nick Cannon hosts viewers’ Top 10 music videos. With Justin Bieber, Carly Rae Jepsen, Ne-Yo.

“Andrew Dice Clay: Indestructible” (Showtime, 10 p.m.). First stand-up special in 17 years.
