As you get ready to play NFL Madden 13', a dark screen begins to clear revealing Baltimore Ravens linebacker Ray Lewis sitting in a locker room. Lewis begins to give a motivational speech.

"I want to live long after my records have fallen, long after my rings have tarnished and whatever you got to do to make sure you chase your legacy every second of your life," says an emotional Lewis.

This is just the intro to a video game.

Now, imagine a game day in New Orleans. Imagine Lewis putting on his purple and black Ravens jersey, ready to go out into battle for the last time. This is nothing like we've ever seen before.

Super Bowl XLVII is truly one for the ages. The stage is set in New Orleans for the Baltimore Ravens to take on the San Francisco 49ers on Sunday, Feb. 3. This game has it all: a young quarterback, a hall of famer chasing his perfect storm and a sibling rivalry, which is a first in Super Bowl history.

With brothers John and Jim Harbaugh (John is the oldest) going head to head, it will be the first time in Super Bowl history that two brothers compete against each other as head coaches. But unfortunately for Jim, big brother John will be the one to come out victorious.

Both teams have a chance to win, but the Ravens have found a balanced offense and an aggressive defense that will give the 49ers more than they can handle. The Ravens defense leads the NFL in sacks during the post-season and ranked 16th during the regular season in terms of total yards allowed.

Lewis has led his defense, racking up 44 tackles in the postseason.

The 49ers defense is impressive, and after their solid performance versus the Atlanta Falcons, they showed how easily they can create turnovers. Surprisingly, despite them being ranked 16th in the league in interceptions, the Ravens are right behind them.

During this postseason, both defenses have been demolishing team after team. However, although the 49ers dominated the Green Bay Packers, they also gave up 31 points. The Ravens defense has played phenomenal, taking out some of the best quarterbacks. The Ravens defense only gave up more than 30 points once this postseason and has kept teams from scoring less than 14 points.

Still, in their 38-35 double overtime win over the Super Bowl favorite Denver Broncos, the Ravens defense came up with three crucial turnovers. The following week they held one of the highest scoring teams, the New England Patriots, to just 13 points; the Ravens shut them down completely in the second half.

The Ravens are a postseason powerhouse squad. They're 13-7 all-time in the playoffs, with a .650 winning percentage that is the best in NFL history. Lewis is the heart of the Ravens and can motivate his defense despite just having a highlight play ran on them.

Similarly, the 49ers defense, led by linebacker Patrick Willis, doesn't back down from a challenge. After being down 17-0, the 49ers defense held Atlanta to just one touchdown in the second half, while their offense put up 28 points. It's impressive games like this that ranks them third in the NFL in second-half point differentials.

These two defenses are pretty evenly matched, and both understand that there is no room for error. So although defense wins championships, it's the offense that’s really going to make the difference.

The non-secret weapon of the 49ers is their two-part running game, featuring running back Frank Gore and quarterback Colin Kaepernick. The Ravens need to make sure they put pressure on Kaepernick, forcing him to hand off the ball, similar to the Falcons’ strategy. But they also need to make sure they control the run game.

Controlling Kaepernick is easier said than done.  During the 49ers’ 45-31 victory over the Packers, he ran for a quarterback playoff record of 181 yards. He had four touchdowns that day, two rushing and two passing. The Ravens can't let that happen if they expect to win.

As for quarterback Joe Flacco, he has had the best postseason, averaging 284 yards a game and three touchdowns. The most questionable thing about Flacco is his lack of control and ability to keep up in a high-scoring offense. However, after going against the second best defense versus Denver, his comeback win made this match-up one of the most memorable games.

Flacco and the Ravens aren't scared of being down. With just 30 seconds left, Flacco threw a 70-yard touchdown pass to send the game into overtime, where he went on to stun Bronco fans.

After 16 years in the game, Lewis may not be the powerhouse player he was when he led the Ravens to a Super Bowl win in 2000, but he doesn't need to be. The pieces are in place, the defense is playing with heart, and their offense is showing that they can perform under pressure.

At the end of Lewis’ speech in Madden 13', he screams, "Will you be remembered? How will you be remembered? Why wouldn't you fight for the greatest achievement ever? Leave your mark to endure forever."

And after he takes home the Lombardi Trophy, his legacy will be complete. He will forever be the "Original Raven."
