It has been released that the victim of a deadly lion attack at a Fresno County cat sanctuary that took place on Wednesday was a 26-year-old female intern. Deputies shot and killed the lion, but when they rushed over to the victim, she was already dead. It is unsure why the lion attacked her or whether or not the lion was in the feeding area or a larger enclosure. However, it is clear that the victim and another volunteer were left unsupervised to tend the animals at Project Survival's Cat Haven, which houses lions, cheetahs, tigers and jaguars.
