College women tend to binge drink more than men, according to a study conducted by Bettina Hoeppner. She came to this conclusion after surveying 992 college students from three different New England colleges. These students recorded their daily alcohol consumption throughout the year, and 85.4 percent of them exceeded the National Institute on Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism guidelines for low-risk drinking. Female participants had a tendency to binge drink more than male participants.
