The Accrediting Commission for Community and Junior Colleges placed sanctions on Los Angeles Valley and Mission colleges. The sanctions are “warnings” that act as a chance for the colleges to fix the issues the accrediting commission found intolerable, such as L.A. Valley College’s 1.5 million-dollar budget deficit from the 2012-2013 fiscal year. The next step could be loss of accreditation. Also, L.A. Valley and Mission could remove the warning by completing the recommendations set forth by the commission.
