Wars have been waged on land, in the air, water and sea. No matter the location, battles have been filmed – even so far as going high above the clouds to galaxies far, far away. Never though, have the gears of battle been grinded out on the fields of sleet and snow.

Bring your long board and video camera to Wrightwood as Mountain High brings about a competition for all filmmakers with an affinity for winter sports. Brush off that Air to Fakie trick you've been working on and get ready for Video Wars.

Separated into three categories: Best Riding, Best Editing and Best Overall Video, Video Wars wants you and the most gnarly of your crew to captivate, charm and, most importantly, capture the true fundamentals of winter sports – the lifestyle, breathtaking scenery and yeah, those sweet tricks.

Winners in each of the three categories will receive a 2007/08 Mountain High Season Pass, a Video Wars trophy and products from sponsoring companies. The winning videos will be featured on snowboardermag.com, futuresnowboarding.com and transworldsnowboarding.com. Recognition will be given to the top riders but the event essentially celebrates those willing and able to strap on a camera while sliding down a slippery slope.

Registration is free and takes place at Mountain High on Saturday, March 17, from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. Videos must be five minutes in length; all footage must be filmed at the resort between March 17 and March 23. Winners will be announced on March 24th.

Destruction of property, excessive swearing, gross sexual conduct and drug use will not be allowed. The only thing that should be getting high is the 720 your friend is able to pull off a while being recorded on DV!

Mountain High Resort is located at 24510 State Highway 2 in Wrightwood. For more information, call (760) 316-7831 or visit www.mthigh.com.
