If ever there was a screenwriter whose name roused feelings of both outrage and hope it is Dalton Trumbo. Here is a man who as the most outspoken member of the Hollywood 10 was blacklisted from the film industry after refusing to cooperate during the House Un-American Activities Committee, only to regain prominence by winning an Academy Award for writing The Brave One.

Trumbo is a celebration of the man’s life and letters, quite literally. A brilliant cast that includes Michael Douglas, Paul Giamatti and Liam Neeson perform some of Trumbo’s more colorful words in the same fashion the author would have intended.
