UCLA Anderson Gets New Play Toy

Jim Easton, chairman and CEO of Jas. D. Easton Inc., has donated $2 million to create the Jim Easton Global Connection Classroom at the UCLA Anderson School of Management. The high-tech classroom will have recording and video conferencing capabilities, wireless microphones included in the desks and the ceiling, LED screens, a complete sound system, a digital touch screen at the speaker's podium, and a control room to operate the classroom's three remote cameras.

LMU Theatre Teacher Receives National Recognition

Longtime LMU Theatre Professor Judith Royer has received the 2008 award for Outstanding Teacher in Higher Education from the Association for Theatre in Higher Education (ATHE). She created the Playwrights Center Stage Series at the university, which aims to help students develop and perform new works with guest professional artists. For that and the various classes she teaches in acting, playwriting and dramatic criticism, she received more than 100 letters of recommendation for the ATHE award, which she received at their national conference in Denver on July 30.
