The world needs more artists like Alu, those with undeniable talent, yet with tongues firmly planted in cheek. On her sophomore effort, The Lobotomy Sessions, Alu flits gracefully from wacky waltz to cabaret to jazz, rocking her synths with show tune intensity.

Her voice will naturally draw strong comparisons to Tori Amos, while her nutty lyrics set her far apart as she croons about falling in love with a casket salesman, being an unrepentant recluse and battling over feminine accoutrements with a metrosexual. Think Kate Bush on a broomstick.

The Lobotomy Sessions is gothic punk cabaret for those who know better than to take anything too seriously.
