LMU partnered with Playa Sunrise Rotary and For the Troops, two community groups, to help create care packages to be sent to troops in Iraq and Afghanistan. Students donated items that were on soldiers’ wish lists. Letters of appreciation written by both children and adults were also included, hoping to help create a link back home for the troops during the holiday season.
LMU International Break Dancing Competition
LMU’s B-Boy Squad, a hip-hop and break dancing group that promotes unity through dance, hosted their third annual break dancing competition, Claws Out, at the LMU Campus Nov. 15. The goal of the event was to help fight homelessness in SoCal. Donations and canned goods were also collected and will be passed out through the Westside Food Bank on Thanksgiving.
