Hollywood loves their formulas but I Love You, Man takes the good ol’ “boy meets girl, boy loses girl, boy gets girl back” mantra and flips it on its head. This time it’s “bro meets bro, bro falls for bro, bros decide they need some “space,” bros rock out to Rush.”

The film stars Paul Rudd as Peter Klaven, a man who’s always put his hos before his bros. The consummate Girlfriend Guy, Peter finds himself about to get married to the girl of his dreams, Zooey, played by the paradoxically ethereal but alluringly grounded Rashida Jones, but without a best man. He sets out on a series of man dates before meeting freewheeling, charming Sydney Fife (Jason Segel), who becomes his new BFF.

Written and directed by John Hamburg (Along Came Polly), the script plots a predictable course, but Rudd and Segel are absolutely hilarious as two dudes falling deeper and deeper into their bromance.
