It seems as if the Sparks cannot win for anything on the road. They definitely will not win very many games if Candace Parker struggles to find the scoring column each game.

Parker was limited to just two points on Saturday, and none of her teammates scored more than 10 points, as the Washington Mystics defeated the Sparks, 75-63, at the Verizon Center.

Trailing by as many as 24 points in the first half, the Sparks (4-7, 1-6 on road) battled back in the second half, tying the game at 63-63. However, the Mystics finished the game with a 12-0 run to round out the final score.

Alana Beard paced the Mystics (6-5) with 26 points, including scoring the team’s first 13 points.

The Sparks, who were without Lisa Leslie, struggled from the field, missing 11 of their first 12 shots and shooting 37 percent for the game. Shannon Bobbitt and Betty Lennox led the Sparks with 10 points each.

The Sparks continue their road series against the Storm in Seattle July 22 and against the Lynx in Minneapolis July 28.
