Ever wonder what would happen if you downsized and sacrificed, until you made no trash, consumed nothing new, emitted no air pollution nor wasted energy? That’s the challenge author Colin Beavan set out for himself, with his wife and toddler tagging along – for one year.
They did it in stages, of course, but what was most striking about this documentary was the love and respect that was evident between Colin and his wife even during their self-imposed hard times, and the health and environmental – both planned and unexpected – benefits they experienced from the experiment. Beavan’s book about his journey is also currently available in stores.
