Restaurant: Sushi Eyaki (5040 Wilshire Blvd., Los Angeles; sushieyaki.com). They have the best spicy salmon roll in town, and try the Alex Roll.

Hangout:
The Edison (108 W. 2nd St., Downtown; edisondowntown.com). It has a super-cool layout, and I believe it was the original downtown Los Angeles power plant. It has a speakeasy feel. Look out for the absinthe fairy!

Music venue: I always enjoy seeing acts perform at the Greek Theatre (2700 N. Vermont Ave., Los Angeles; greektheatrela.com) or at Bordello (901 E. 1st St., Downtown; bordellobar.com). When I perform, I enjoy playing gigs at the Derby (4500 Los Feliz Blvd., Los Feliz; clubderby.com). They have a great stage and sound.

Outdoor activity: Playing disc golf at Oak Grove Park near La Crescenta off the 210 (ogdgc.org). It is the first disc golf course ever, although I’m not sure how affected it might have been by the recent fires.

Best L.A. concert: A Michael Bublé show at the Greek. He had the audience in the palm of his hand, and at the end of the concert he put his microphone down and sang without it to an audience of at least 3,000 people. It was incredible and humbling.

Favorite thing about L.A.: How diverse it is and how you can be at the beach one hour and in the next, hiking through one of the local canyons. I also dig the weather, except when it gets so hot!

Interesting fact people may not know about me: Many people don’t know that I’m a bird nut. I studied ornithology in my youth and am a proud member of the Echo Park Ornithology Club. Add them on MySpace!
