Candace Parker scored 22 points to lead Los Angeles to the Western Conference Finals as the Sparks defeated the Seattle Storm, 75-64, on Sunday night in Game 3 of the WNBA conference semifinals in Seattle. The Sparks helped extend Lisa Leslie’s career by a few more games (She announced earlier this year that she is retiring.).

Los Angeles bounced back from a tough loss in Game 2, where the Sparks led by four points with 14 seconds remaining in the game, but Seattle scored five unanswered points to avoid the sweep.

However, the Sparks played inspired basketball in their first elimination game of the playoffs, relying on a 13-0 second quarter run to cruise past Seattle. Leslie scored 13 points, while Tina Thompson added 12. Swin Cash had 21 points and 10 rebounds for Seattle.

Seattle’s elimination meant an end of the road for Shannon Johnson, who is also retiring this season after 10 WNBA seasons.

The Western Conference Finals will take place Sept. 23, 25 and 26 (if necessary).
