Campus Circle founder, Joy Calisoff, had to wear many hats when she initially created Campus Circle Newspaper in 1990 while attending USC Film School. Ms. Calisoff lacked financial backing and started the company using her ability to sell advertising.   Occasionally, she  was asked by clients to also model for their overall print campaigns (pictured here in 1994).  Additionally, she wrote some of the articles and edited the publication. The amount of work was daunting and having limited resources made things even more difficult. However, these obstacles became great teaching tools for problem solving and learning to how to prioritize.

Her advise to anyone wanting to start a business, "Try to do something you are passsionate about that fills a need and don't be afraid of failure. You just need to be willing to give something your all."
