'They Shot The Piano Player' starts Friday, February 23 in New York and Los Angeles

They Shot The Piano Player is the second collaboration from Fernando Trueba and Javier Mariscal, the team behind the Academy Award®-nominated Chico & Rita. Narrated by Jeff Goldblum, the film is the story of a New York music journalist, who goes on a quest to uncover the truth behind the mysterious disappearance of a young Brazilian piano virtuoso. A celebratory origin story of the world-renowned Bossa Nova music movement, this vividly animated film captures a time bursting with creative freedom in the ‘60s and ‘70s, which was a turning point in Latin American history.  This was just before the continent was engulfed by totalitarian regimes.

The film is rated PG-13. Genres: Animation/Drama/History.
